Facilities Automation Engineer - Mt. Sterling, IL

YOU MUST HAVE
* Bachelor's degree in engineering and professional engineering certification. Degree can be in any of the disciplines - architecture, mechanical, civil, structural, or electrical.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.



YOU MAY ALSO HAVE
* Robotics and automated material handling systems, Conveyor, AS/RS (Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems), or other warehouse automation technologies.

* Controls experience

* Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens

* Integration of automation with IT/OT systems (networking, MES, data simulation tools such as FlexSim for layouts or process modeling)

* Data analysis tools (basic SQL, Python, or advanced Excel for system performance)



ROLE SPECIFICS
* Travel - Up to 60% overnight travel for company meetings, trainings, and project responsibilities. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.



WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Coordinate automation engineering activities across multiple locations in partnership with operations leadership and in alignment with safety requirements.

* Support capital assessment and implementation with both internal and external partners.

* Interface with vendors for product selection, engineering review, and solution procurement.

* Collaborate with project management teams to ensure high-quality project delivery.

* Apply lean principles and tools to drive efficiency and eliminate waste.
