Resident Automation Technician III - Aurora, IL

They have an exciting opportunity for a Resident Automation Technician III to join their team. This position is well-suited to a proactive and hands-on individual who is looking to develop their technical expertise while contributing to the continuous improvement of site performance and reliability.
This position is based in the Maintenance and Automation department and answers to the Automation Manager/Site Supervisor. You will troubleshoot and repair automation equipment, support all automation-related activities on site, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and system performance while maintaining a professional relationship with the client.
Responsibilities:
Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.
Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment on-site, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory.
Collaborate with the broader Lifetime Services team to track, document, and communicate issues and lessons learned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma required. Associate degree or Technical Certificate in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related field strongly preferred.
5 years of demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, manufacturing, or related environments.
Familiarity with HMI (human machine interface) and/or SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition interface) experience.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings for use in diagnostics.
Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc).
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Previous experience in electromechanical troubleshooting and repair of material-handling conveyors, AS/RS, and shuttle systems, preferred.
Profibus and Profinet experience preferred.
