Position: Wiring Technician

Location: Bishops Stortford

Salary: £30,000 - £31,000 - Depending on experience

Hours: Full Time - 37.5 hours per week - 08:00am - 16:00pm, Monday to Friday

Proactive are currently in search of an experienced Wiring Technician o start work immediately for a client of ours in Bishops Stortford. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team within the production area, and should have previous wiring experience working within a faced paced manufacturing environment.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

Manufacture of complete wiring loomsSmall wiring cable formsPopulation and wiring of Electrical and Control cabinetsCircuit wiring for tank transducersPrevious experience with Wiring installationsWorking to technical drawings and wiring schematicsElectrical cabinet and wiring loom experienceGood knowledge of circuitry principalsExcellent wiring experience - crimping, soldering, re-wiring.Ability to work under pressure and to timescales

The successful candidate will be responsible for wiring and assembling electrical components, rack builds and panel wiring, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Wireman:

Must have previously held 18th Edition qualification / ECS cardPrior experience as an assembler in an Electrical environmentPrevious experience with rack builds and panel wiringAble to do point to point wiringExpertise in crimping, cable making and harnessesWirer must be capable of wiring and general assemblyMust possess a good understanding of engineering drawings and be able to assemble products accordingly

Skills and Qualifications of the Electrical Wireman:

The successful candidate will be responsible for wiring and assembling electrical control panels and systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities of the Panel Wireman:

Assemble and wire electrical control panels according to technical drawings and schematics. Ensure all connections are secure and components are installed correctly.Install various electrical components such as circuit breakers, relays, transformers, and terminal blocks within the control panels.Conduct thorough testing and inspection of wired panels to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards. Identify and rectify any issues or faults.Adhere to quality control procedures to ensure all panels meet company and industry standards.Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any safety concerns to the supervisor.Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry advancements and best practices. Contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications of the Panel Wireman:

Strong understanding of back panel wiring techniques and electrical components.Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.High attention to detail to ensure accurate and precise wiring and assembly.Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy components.

Wireman/ Site Engineer

Brighton and Hove

£30-35K

Wireman/ Site Engineer required to work for a leading specialist in panel wiring and switchgear manufacturing for a range of industries. This is a key role to the business where you would be required to work on site and carry out maintenance, repair and fault finding on a range of panels and Switchgear. Although this is a field-based role when there are no field based requirements you will be required to assembe panels in the factory.

DC switchgear experience is not necessary, however ability to read engineering diagrams, circuit diagrams etc is. Proven record of working on switchgear, control panels, busbars etc

We are looking for candidates who are willing to take part in any training courses relevant to the position. This is a Safety Critical Role, as such you will be required to pass a PTS medical.

Engineer Key Responsibilities:

Site based Work:

On-site service, preventative maintenance, repairs and testing of DC and AC switchgear.Help identify and resolve potential risks for site work projects.Provide on-site customer support, problem solving and lateral thinking solutions.Provide detailed written reports, and working recommendations.On-call duties as part of a call out service.When not on site you will be assembling switchgear products in the factory (As below)Training will be provided.

Manufacturing and Assembly:

Interpretation of schematic and general arrangement drawings.Laying out panels.Panel assembly including, preparation of metalwork prior to assembly, cabling, control wiring.Copper busbar work including forming and fitting.

Essential

Switchgear/Electrical assembly experience.Proven experience in a similar role.Ability to interpret wiring schematic and general arrangement drawings.

Desirable

ECS CardPTS

As a site Engineer you will also be part of an on call roster and will be expected to attend weekday daytime call outs.
