Overview

On behalf of our client, a leading name in the manufacturing sector, we are recruiting for an experienced Lead Maintenance Engineer. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong leadership skills and an electrical bias to take ownership of maintenance operations within a busy production environment.

The successful Lead Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for both supervising the maintenance team and remaining actively involved in day-to-day maintenance and repair activities across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the Lead Maintenance Engineer, overseeing and coordinating all site maintenance tasks.Lead, guide, and support a team of multi-skilled maintenance technicians, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.Remain hands-on, carrying out fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a range of electrical and mechanical machinery.Plan and manage preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring all work is completed to high standards and in a timely manner.Support continuous improvement initiatives, recommending and implementing efficiency and reliability enhancements.Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company maintenance standards.Liaise with production and operations teams to quickly resolve technical issues and support manufacturing targets.

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience as a Lead Maintenance Engineer or Senior Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing or production environment.Hand on experience of maintaining machinery. Previous experience leading or mentoring a maintenance team.Recognised engineering qualification (HNC/HND/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance.Excellent communication and organisational skills.Flexibility to support shift patterns or call-out requirements as needed.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Evaluate customer enquiry requirements for machined components and assemblies.

To estimate manufacturing costs, and produce quotes accurately within a timely manner.

Liaise with customers technically as required and take ownership of contracts and manage to completion.

Complete contract review obligations to the highest standard; aim at "right first time".

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Produce optimum method and estimates from drawings or digitally provided data, capture all relevant information and provide clear narratives where required, within the allocated timeframe

Project manage new business, generate project plan and necessary documentation

Create clear and concise quotes and submits quotes for review prior to submission

Complete & conduct quick load as a priority for a new orders, make sure all information including materials and specifications is captured prior to performing

Complete & conduct contract review - adopt a critical approach

Negotiate raw materials and purchase as required, liaise with suppliers and obtain new suppliers for outwork processes

Provide technical support, methods, tooling and project management
Monitor contract profitability and review with production/supply chain where appropriate in terms of price increases. Improve profitability by process improvement / cost reduction wherever possible

To be proactive in continuous improvement ideas on product Quality and Delivery and reduce Cost

Ensure customers are kept informed as required

Ensure all company conduct, safety and quality procedures are rigidly followed

Work in an orderly manner, ensuring excellent housekeeping

Work as a team covering and supporting advising best practice as required. Carry out any other duties that may be requested from time to time

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Standards, Architecture & Tooling

Essential Functions:

Coordinates on-site installation/maintenance of electrical and mechanical automated system machines.Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and align electrical and mechanical automated system machines.Clears interface of electrical and mechanical software.Effectively communicates with customers in high-impact scenarios.Develops and maintains standards and tools for hardware projects.Monitors external suppliers.Monitors automated system machine performance.Maneuver ladders, metal stairs, catwalks, and temporary structures in warehouses and distribution centers to find problems and make repairs.May occasionally perform extended hours, weekends, and holidays to support customer service and change requests.May travel to other sites for paid training, installations, and vacation relief.Works independently with little or no supervision.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the Essential Functions.

Additional Responsibilities:

Trains internal and external customers to increase system knowledge, resolve issues, and prevent issues from recurring.Update system manuals.Attends and participates in customer meetings.

Qualifications:

2-year degree in Electronic or Mechanical Technology or equivalent experience.1-3 years of experience in equipment maintenance, preferably with automation systems.Working knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles, motors, drivers, belts, and bearings

We're looking for an experienced Contract Maintenance Engineer to join a extremely well established manufacturer that has made huge investments in their site. This is a hands-on, long-term contract where you'll keep high-speed packaging lines running smoothly in a modern clean site.

What We're Looking For

Machine Operator Required to work manufacturing company based in St. Neots

Location: St. Neots

Hours: 2pm - 10pm Monday - Friday

Pay: £13.50 - £15.00 per hour

Overview of the role:

Key Responsibilities:

Operate production machinery in a safe and efficient manner.Conduct routine quality checks on products.Pack and prepare products for dispatch according to specifications.Maintain cleanliness and organisation on the production floor.Follow all company health & safety policies and procedures.Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.

Candidate Requirements:
