The purpose of this role is to support the QHSE Manager, and so is the need to ensure continued Health, Safety and Environmental across the plant. As a HSE Advisor, you will support with delivering new HSE processes, building relationships with staff at all levels, conducting internal audits, conducting risk assessments, providing safety training, and promoting a culture of safety among employees and contractors.
Core hours are between 8am-6pm with an early finish at 1pm on a Friday. 37 hours a week and 5 Days on site. Occasional travel to other sites is also required.
Duties
Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and communicatedEnsure full and accurate health and safety and training records are maintainedEstablish and maintain a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checksConduct regular risk assessments of the workplace activities, identifying potential hazards, and implementing controls to mitigate risks.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk control measures and adjust as necessary.Investigate accidents, near misses, and other safety incidents to determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.Prepare and maintain accurate records of all safety-related incidents and produce reports for management as required.Implement proactive and reactive safety measures as requiredProvide practical competent advice to the workforce, supervisors and managers on HSW mattersComplete internal and subcontractor audits, and set actions to address the root cause of any findings in relation to audits and investigationsUpdate and manage the HSE KPI's in line with the company objectives.Promote a positive safety culture within Thyssenkrupp, encouraging active participation and ownership of safety responsibilities at all levelsRequired Experience
A recognised qualification in health and safety (preferred - i.e. TechIosh, CMIOSH).Professional certifications such as NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent or higher (required).Proven experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.In-depth knowledge of UK health & safety legislation, regulations, and standards.Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop effective control measures.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.Proficient in conducting safety training sessions and delivering presentations.An approachable, flexible and pro-active individual who all employees feel they can approach for assistance in any safety matter.
