As a Controls Project Engineer at our office in Veghel, you will be responsible for designing and programming PLC controls for our material handling systems. Working closely with a multidisciplinary project team, you will deliver a Functional Specification during the engineering phase and then proceed to the detailed design, programming, and testing of the PLC software, ensuring it meets high-quality demands on a project basis.
Following the engineering phase, you will travel to customer sites around the world to perform the commissioning of conveyor systems. This will involve functional testing of the PLC hardware and software, integrating your PLC software into the overall control system, and assisting with customer acceptance testing. Throughout the project, you will closely monitor the budget and schedule, taking appropriate actions as necessary.
In addition to technical responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the improvement of our products by delivering feedback and best practices, as well as providing regular progress reports, managing deadlines and milestones, and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
Requirements:
- HBO degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Computer Science, or Controls Technology
- Strong analytic skills
- Proactive, pragmatic, and hands-on attitude
- Knowledge of and experience in PLC applications (TIA Portal)
- Willingness to travel regularly for extended periods (up to 50% of your time)
- Good command of the English language
- Knowledge of the Dutch language is preferred

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a PMO consultant, preferably within ERP implementation programs in multinational environments, and possess strong organizational and planning skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain program governance routines and support steering committee preparation.
- Operate and manage the integrated program plan, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Track risks, issues, and actions (RAID) and support mitigation planning.
- Produce weekly/monthly dashboards, KPIs, and executive reports.
- Facilitate cross-team alignment, workshops, and decision-making sessions.
- Maintain PMO standards, templates, and documentation quality.
- Qualifications:
