About The Role

Birmingham Airport is entering a major phase of transformation, and we're looking for a Senior Programme Lead to shape and deliver a portfolio of capital development projects that will influence the experience of millions of passengers. You'll lead complex development programmes, guide multidisciplinary teams, and help ensure our investment plans align with the Airport Master Plan.

Salary is competitive and will be discussed with candidates based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team delivering a rolling portfolio of capital projectsDeputise for the Head of Development and support the wider Capital Investment Programme Oversee gateway milestones, governance, and alignment with the Airport Master PlanShape contract and delivery strategies, including NEC4 documentationManage risk, reporting, project controls, and stakeholder engagementDrive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Experience Required

Strong background in airport development or complex infrastructure environmentsProven track record delivering major projects and programmesDeep understanding of governance, project controls, risk, and planningExperience with NEC4 contracts and CDM/Building Safety Act requirementsSkilled communicator able to simplify complex issues for diverse audiencesConfident leader with experience managing multidisciplinary professional teams

Desirable ExperienceWorking towards or holding membership of a relevant Chartered BodyPRINCE2 or APM qualificationCSCS card holderCITB Site Safety Plus CertificatePostgraduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or BusinessUnderstanding of business case finance models and cost‑benefit analysisAbility to produce well‑structured business cases focused on benefits and outcomes
